Museum of Wooden Art
In 1977, the Wood Art Museum of Armenia was founded. It is the only one of its kind, a whole museum where wooden sculptures, tools, household items, jewelry, etc. are displayed.
The sketches of the museum were designed by the painter Grigor Khanjyan, and the metal decoration by the artist-blacksmith Vardan Ohanyan.
The collection was originally assembled as a result of donations, but was later expanded through scientific expedition materials and acquisitions. The objectives of the museum are to collect, preserve and exhibit masterpieces of wood art, to develop national carving and art restoration.
Here, besides the fact that you can observe and study the works created from wood, you can also get professional education. Thematic and author exhibitions are an integral part of the museum. Cultural events and lectures are organized, in which people of different ages can participate.
